What about nutrition interests you?
I'm interested in weight maintenance, food that makes me feel good and healthy, that supports my athletic life. I'm interested in food without additives that harm my hormone balance or adversely affect my health. Most of all, I'm interested in eating delicious, good-for-me food, not "health" food. I'm a grad student, very busy, and love to hear about quick food/recipes that are also healthy.

Still going strong....

I have been artificial sweetener-free for over a month now. I have given up soda altogether (but I do enjoy the occasional soda water with juice-- thanks Cindy for the suggestion!), and use only honey or sugar in my tea. Coffee has become less and less a part of my diet- half a cup now and then. I drank a full size take-out cup about a week ago during a meeting, and my hands were shaking and my heart was racing for a few hours. I'm sticking to tea for the time being. Every once in a blue moon, I… Continue

I like my men strong, and my tea stronger.....

I told my boyfriend I was cutting out artificial sweeteners from my diet last night, and I was surprised by his reaction.... well, not that surprised. He just doesn't want me to become too "extreme" in my diet, cutting things out, etc. In his mind, Everything is ok in moderation, which I am very much down with.... except in this case. I think there is just too much evidence against it, on top of the fact that my body reacts unfavorably toward it. Just the simple fact that doctors often tell preg… Continue

Diet Coke, R.I.P.

This is day three of my new resolution to remove artificial sweeteners from my diet (http://www.foodspark.com/forum/topic/show?id=2012733%3ATopic%3A14768). I am not feeling any particular symptoms of withdrawal, but my mental dependency on carbonated diet beverages is obvious. I'm giving away the diet cokes in my fridge. I'm drinking my jasmine tea with a little real sugar this morning, and keep thinking how nice it would be to toss in an equal. But, on the other hand, I know that this will be g… Continue

Stevia is a good & safe alterative to sugar. Also they make a diet soda now called zevia that does not have phosphoric acid in it & is sweetened with Stevia. It's pretty good, tho I limit myself & stick with water most of the time. I was adverse nuerological symtoms from artificial sweetners that disappeared after I removed them as well as MSG from my diet. So good for U getting off of diet soda.
