I'm interested in 'tools' to help me assess conditions of my cliets. I'm doing research right now and I"m curious on what is out there. I've found the electrodermal machines, the bio assessment from Metagenics...what do you use to help 'assess' your clients
Have you researched metabolic testing? I know very little about it, but believe it is urine testing that helps determine the individuals metabolic function, which in turn helps the practitioner recommend specific foods or supplements.
https://www.marketamerica.com/sheran/index.cfm?action=shopping.wpGo.... Check this link out and this product is a Genetic evaluation of 26 genes in the body, looks for variations and determines what supplements and foods your body will need to take a proactive approach to these variations. You get a 30 to 40 page report which spells out the variations in the genes and tells you how effectively target those variations. If you have any questions after checking the link please email me.
It is actually very easy. You get a test kit in which you take a cheek swab from the inside of your mouth between the cheek and gums. You gently rub the swab against your cheek and from that they get the cells from the cheek and you then put them in the test tube they give you in the kit and it gets sent to Sciona Laboratory which partners with our company. We actually have exclusivity with this company which are one of the leaders in gene technology in the country. You then get the roughly 30 page report which identifies the variations if there are any in 26 genes in your body. You also fill out a Lifestyle Questionnaire along with your sample. They are checking you body for 5 areas: Heart Health & B Vitamin use, Detoxification and Antioxidants, Bone Health, Inflammation and Insulin Sensitivity. In addition they will give you a pre package 30 day supply regiment of supplements based on your results at no cost. If you decide to stay on that regiment you then just pay for the reorder beyond that. I recently got my results and it was incredible. It pointed out my deficiencies in Calcium and Omega 3's and numerous others based on my variations. I also am a Nutraceutical Consultant with Nutrametrix Advanced Nutraceuticals which is a division of Market America. It is my business I do with Health and Nutrition. I work with medical professionals and people on an individual basis. Any other questions please let me know.
The DNA Assessment that Randy recommended is right on. It's a simple assessment that can cost up to $2,000 in the consumer market. Google recently invested $40 million in 23andMe - which is a DNA Assessment company. Their tests sell for $999. Metabolic testing is good, certainly better than nothing, but still only gives the individual a 'snapshot' into what they need. Metabolic testing results can be influenced by a number of factors - what you ate, activity level, time of day, etc. Genetic Assessments never change.
