What most people do not realize is that while diet soda has no calories; the artificial sweeteners, while being horribly bad for you (and that's ALL of them) also elicit a CEPHALIC RESPONSE in the brain, making it think it has just gotten sugar. Tha…

I agree. I have never been a big fan of milk. Humans are the only animal who consume milk after infancy. Cows milk is for cows.

Childhood Obesity

Childhood Obesity

According to a recent news report, 34% of people in the U.S. are overweight, with an additional 33% considered obese! This means that just a third of us are of 'normal' weight. These statistics include people of all ages, including kids. No wonder everyone seems to be on a perpetual diet, with dozens of best selling books on weight loss programs and entire corporations dedicated to weight loss products and programs. It's clear that parents, for the sake of their kid's health,… Continue

Vitamin D. Time to get some more sun

Vitamin D is one of the essential nutrients required by the human body. It is unique in that, unlike most other vitamins, it is one that we can manufacture on our own, given the right conditions. Despite this, across many populations vitamin D is one of the most widespread and critical nutrient deficiencies. This deficiency is linked to many diseases and disorders, causing untold pain and suffering and costing billions of dollars each year. Our changing lifestyles, including increased indoor liv… Continue

The Magical, Mysterious Vitamin D

For years we have been hearing about vitamin D deficiency and the long list of illnesses that it can be linked to. While I don't tend to believe in magic bullets, this is one case where I'm going to have to make an exception.

Vitamin D deficiency has been linked to such illnesses as cancer, osteoporosis, heart disease, hypertension, autoimmune diseases, depression, chronic fatigue and general immune dysfunction......and the list goes on.

Ever stop and wonder why the cold and flu season exists?… Continue

How to put on weight

It is so easy to put on weight as seen in the growing epidemic of people who are overweight and obese. To understand this epidemic all you need to do is look at their diet. But then if you’re not convinced review the scientific journals and you will see exactly the same.
If you want to put on weight eat more processed foods. Yep these include all the take-aways and fast food but even more importantly it’s the breads, pasta’s, packaged breakfast foods and processed potatoes. Not only are these fo… Continue

Milk is not the great food for kids that it is made out to be

Milk is not a great food for kids. It seems that we have lost the plot and can’t look beyond calcium.
When you pasteurised milk you destroy all the enzymes which are essential for digestion. Human mother’s milk is rich in enzymes to digests the milk that it comes with. Once you heat any product over 49° you lose the enzymes and your body has to struggle to digests the foods. Particularly for infants as they don’t have the enzymes ready in their system so it puts a large amount of stress on the i… Continue

A Smart Breakfast Leads to Smarter Healthier Kids

The word breakfast simply means “breaking the fast.” Since breakfast is the meal we eat after our longest period of rest it has special significance to our metabolism. Just as getting enough sleep is important to a person’s performance during the day, eating a good breakfast is equally important. It provides the vital nourishment and energy we need to start and carry out our day. In today’s fast-paced society breakfast tends to be neglected or substituted with highly processed foods stripped of… Continue

Boosting Testosterone Naturally

There are a number of foods that can naturally and safely boost levels of testosterone. They are as follows:

* Almonds

Nothing sound that appealing? Consider the following supplements then:

Is Your Vitamin C Supplement Really Vitamin C?

Probably not! 99% of all vitamin C supplements are ascorbic acid, calcium ascorbate, magnesium ascorbate or potassim ascorbate.

Eating ascorbic acid supplements and foods with hidden ascorbic acid used as a preservative is a primary contributor to rapid aging as ascorbic acid disrupts cellular oxygen metabolism.

Ascorbates are chemical nightmares. Ascorbic acid never has been and never will be Natural State Vitamin C.

Ascorbates (there are many different types) are all vitamin mimics. This me… Continue
